Swimwear of the Week: Zimmerman Georgia Floating Halter One-Piece
Please don't hate me. I ran across this week's Swimsuit of the Week while looking for a different one by Zimmerman (the breathtakingly gorgeous Haze Wrap One Piece), and I fell in love. You all know how I get. When I see something I can't get out of my mind, I have to share it here. So let's all swoon with desire together (or you can mock my ridiculous taste... whichever works).
Before this year, Zimmerman was a name I encountered infrequently, but lately, I've been paying much closer attention to their work. Zimmerman's swimsuits are so striking and unique, so stunning and complex, that I've genuinley confused them with lingerie. By experimenting with color, pattern, and texture, this is a brand that pushes the notion of what swimwear can be. Some might call these suits impractical, but in the same way that I believe lingerie qualifies as "real" fashion, so too does swim.
As with many designer swimwear labels, this suit maxes out around a US 8/10 (I'm right at the edge of their sizing chart), and Zimmerman is very definitely a luxury label with the piece shown here retailing for $330. However, if the number of sold out sizes and styles on their website is any indication, this is exactly the kind of beach attire people are looking for. Though I confess, I'm more tempted to frame this swimsuit and hang it on my wall.
What do you think of Zimmerman's aesthetic? Is this a brand you've tried before? Or, if not, is it one you would try?
