a necessary accessory, part II: the lingerie wash bag

I'm in the midst of job hunt hell so it's going to be another day or two before I post my second review, but in the meantime I'd like to draw your attention to a post I did roughly six months ago--"a necessary accessory."

In that post, I encouraged everyone to buy some hosiery gloves. At only $4.00/pair, they pay for themselves within one or two uses, and you don't have to worry about accidentally laddering your stockings on a hangnail ever again.

Well, I have something else for you to add to that accessory list--a lingerie bag. I know, I know...we're supposed to wash our pretties by hand. But quite frankly, sometimes you just don't have the energy, and here is where a lingerie bag comes in handy...
Instead of doing the unthinkable and washing your delicates with your jeans and t-shirts (where I promise you they will become tangled, knotted, warped, and useless very quickly), put your stockings or bra sets (never both...you don't want your bra hooks to snag your stockings) into the mesh lingerie bag. Add Woolite, set your washing machine to cold water delicate cycle, and let it go.

Now, this is not something I advocate, per se. Handwashing and hanging up to dry is always the best option. Furthermore, I don't recommend ever using a washing machine for really delicate, expensive, or irreplaceable items. However, I know we live in the real world and not in fantasy land so sometimes you have to do the second best option.

Lingerie bags are cheap and widely available...around $4 USD at your local Wal-Mart.
