Lingerie of the Week: Hadal Love Language Robe and Dress
I'll be honest. It takes more to impress these days than it used to. So when I run across something that makes me gasp aloud and nearly well up tears over the beauty...well, I have to share it. Hadal is a new lingerie brand with a very limited collection, and this is the star. It's so good, one wonders how the designer will follow up with something.
The robe and gown are made out of high momme silk, which makes it heavier (read: more luxurious) than most silks, and is rich, lustrous black. But we all know what caught your (and my) attention. That beautiful Arabic calligraphy. It's an Arabic love poem by Mahmoud Darwish, a Palestinian poet, on invisible tulle, and the embroidery is custom typography created by a calligraphy artist. The poem reads:
They asked “Do you love her to death?” I said “Speak of her over my grave and watch how she brings me back to life.”
How exquisite. The Hadal robe retails for $400 and the dress for $300. This promises to be a true collector's piece, and the sort of lingerie you'll always regret missing out on. I know I would.
