Made by Niki's Fringe Collection took the lingerie industry by storm in 2011, but like all the very best trends, it was a little ahead of its time. The world at large wasn't quite ready for befringed lingerie. Well fast forward 7 years later, and fringe is everywhere now.
Though it's a bit of a wildcard trend, fringe is exciting precisely because of how tactile - how touchable - it is. Lingerie is very often about being invisible, about disappearing seamlessly beneath whatever outer garment takes center stage. But fringe lingerie turns that paradigm on its head. The fringe is the point. It's meant to be seen. And to swing.
While I love that the trend has taken off, I can't help but feel a little sad Made by Niki isn't here to take advantage of it. The groundbreaking luxurywent out of business in 2016. But just in case you missed their fringed pieces (I know I did), maybe one of the sets below can whet your tasseled appetite.
What do you think of the fringe lingerie trend? Would you wear it?
