Sometimes, I worry the brief descriptive portion of these guides can get a little repetitive. The general idea of all our shopping guides is, "I like this, and I think you might like it too," but I don't feel like I can just say and skip to the end (or can I?).

As someone who's been writing about lingerie for almost a decade, I've long noticed indies don't get nearly enough credit for driving trends. In addition, I'm seeing a distressing uptick in the number "PR-friendly" lingerie articles which more or less repeat the nonsensical drivel that women don't run lingerie brands. Out of the 20 items on this list, 18 come from woman-owned, woman-designed intimate apparel labels. Because woman-run lingerie brands aren't the exception. They're the norm.
The $100-$249 price range is perfect for dipping a toe into the world of luxury lingerie. Here where you'll start to see interesting fabrics, details, and finishes. Several of the indie designers on this list also offer custom sizing, which means if you happen to be outside their given size range, there's the option to have a piece specially made to fit you.
