Melanie Talkington of Lace Embrace
About a year ago, I went to Vancouver and shot a series of videos with Melanie Talkington of Lace Embrace Corsetry, a legend of the new corsetmaking era and the owner of the largest private collection of antique corsets in the world.
Unfortunately for me, I was perhaps a bit too ambitious with plans and significantly underestimated how time-consuming and how expensive video editing can be. But it would have been nearly criminal not to share these videos with you. Melanie is so knowledgeable and so gracious that even looking back at the footage now, I'm in awe of how deep her experience goes.
If you've ever wondered how to clean a silk, polyester, or cotton corset, this video is for me. Melanie also discusses when it's time to take a corset to the dry cleaners and how to safely submerge a corset if it needs a more thorough cleaning. I hope you enjoy!
