You know what inspired this week's pick for Sale Lingerie of the Week? I am literally wearing this bra right now as I type this.
A few weeks ago, I shared my favorite, most comfortable bras, but I didn't include any of my faves that had been discontinued. A discontinued bra is the bane of bra-wearing folks everywhere. Just when you fall in love - just when you find "The One" - it's taken away from you, never to be seen again. Natori's Calais Contour Underwire Bra is that kind of bra.
Now, before anyone jumps to correct me, I do know this same lace and general style is available in a strapless version. But I didn't fall in love with the strapless one. I fell in love with this bra. And now I'm buying multiples before it's gone entirely.
In terms of everyday comfort, this is an easy go-to bra. The contour cups feel very soft on the inside against the skin, and the lace overlay is pretty without being fussy. Some contour cups are almost stifling, but these are light and breathable, and give me my preferred silhouette under clothing (which is more or less my natural teardrop shape). I find myself reaching for this bra when I prefer a bit of a nipple coverage, but also when I want something a bit nicer than a plain black microfiber t-shirt bra. To me, this fits true to size (34C), but if you've read TLA for awhile, you know that I prefer loose bands, so please do keep that in mind.
Right now, Natori's Calais Lace T-Shirt Bra is on sale for $22.82 from Nordstrom Rack, a price reduction of 64%. Sizing is limited (as is usual for sale items), but there are quite a few C, D and DD cups left in band sizes 32-38. This bra holds up well to frequent wear, but other reviewers have reported that it runs a bit stretchy or floppy after awhile, which may be good to know if you prefer tight bands.
Have any of you tried this particular contour bra? If so, what did you think?
