Lately, I've been made aware of something very disturbing, and, to be perfectly honest, downright sickening.
Someone who goes by the name Tom Slew (Skype Name: tom.slew1), is pretending to be affiliated with The Lingerie Addict in order to get women to send him nude, topless, and lingerie-clad photos.
This person is posting multiple ads all over the country all with the same script: send photos, talk on Skype, show your breasts, and, if he likes them, get paid for a topless shoot. So far, I've heard from models in Georgia, Arizona, and Texas and discovered identical advertisements to the ones reported for the states of Missouri and California.
In every communication, this person says his website is The Lingerie Addict. When questioned about his affiliation with the site, he then claims to be my spouse. If the model believes him, he insists on needing to see her dress and undress in front of the camera to know if she's a 'good fit' for the job. During the conversation, he promises to pay her $200 for lingerie photos, and $500 for topless pictures.
Let me be perfectly clear: I would never, EVER do this. Nor would my husband. Nor would anyone associated with my site.
The Lingerie Addict does not hire models from Craigslist. The Lingerie Addict does not interview models via Skype. The Lingerie Addict does not ask people to get naked on a webcam for a prospective modeling job.
In all honesty, we're not hiring any models at all right now for anything. Even if we were, they would not be topless or erotic models. Nor we would ask to see your bare breasts or naked body (no reputable photographer or agency would, by the way... these requests during an "interview" should always be considered a red flag). There is no Tom Slew who works with me or for me, and there never has been.
Furthermore, if you're ever wondering if a model advertisement claiming to be from The Lingerie Addict is legit, you can always write to me directly at cora[at]thelingerieaddict.com or get in touch with me on any of my social platforms (Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram). I will always answer these types of questions. Always.
If you've received any type of communication from Tom Slew, up to and including a request for photos, please forward those emails, Skype messages, text messages, and other materials directly to me at cora[at]thelingerieaddict.com. If someone who isn't going by Tom Slew has been requesting nude photos of you under our name, please notify me about that as well.
Your information will not be shared publicly. However I am currently building a fraud and online impersonation case with my attorney, and any and all information we receive will help with that. In addition, I will be contacting the Washington State Attorney General, as I also have concerns this individual may be soliciting nude photos from minors.
I won't mince words here --- I am horrified, appalled, and disgusted that someone would use the name of this site to victimize and exploit women. It makes the bile rise in the back of my throat. I feel nauseous. I hate that we live in a world where predators and creeps will say anything to victimize people. I hate that the relatively safe space we've built here together is being perverted by a sick misogynist to gratify his appetite for non-consensual pornography. And make no mistake, this is a form of sexual assault. There are a plenty of pictures of topless women on the internet. For this individual, the point is all about the lying, the deception, and the false promises. Violating boundaries without consent is the goal. Exploiting someone against their will is the objective. The nudity is a means to that end.
To anyone who's been affected by this, I'm so sorry that you've been deceived and defrauded through the illegitimate use of The Lingerie Addict name. My heart gets broken all over again every time I get an email from one of you because it's just terrifying that someone would abuse your trust in this way. As I said earlier, if you've been contacted by Tom Slew (or one of his aliases), please send those communications to me. My attorneys and I are actively building a case, and we will be working to penalize this individual (or individuals) for the maximum amount of damages allowable by law.
Thank you, as always, for being part of what makes The Lingerie Addict so amazing. I'm sorry to have had to disrupt the flow of our usual content with this message, but I felt it couldn't wait. Please be safe.
With love,
Cora
