I first ran across this week's lingerie of the week on Dollhouse Bettie's Pinterest page. I remember thinking that I shouldn't like this. Though I adore a good garter dress, flowery, fuddy-duddy, wallpaper print really isn't my style. Yet a week or so after I first saw Jolidon's garter dress, I'm still thinking about it. I think I'm attracted to how unique this piece is; I'm really not seeing anything else like it right now. And though I still don't think it's quite a good fit for my personal style, it's very interesting, and I have a feeling someone will love it.
That said, I am a bit concerned about the price. I don't know much about Jolidon, and this garter dress retails for $172. Though it's very pretty, I'm not quite getting the cues that it's a luxury garment. The fabric is polyester and nylon (not silk), and the cups are molded (not cut and sewn). I also don't know anything about the fit of this garment, but I am disappointed that it's only available in sizes 32-36 B/C... an extremely small size range.
TLA is first and foremost a fashion blog, and I post about things that catch my eye in a fashionable way. This definitely did, which is why it's this week's lingerie of the week. I'm also confident that Dollhouse Bettie brings in quality products; they've been one of my favorite boutiques for ages. But I'm really curious about how this garter dress fits and how it feels, so if anyone picks it up, please feel free to leave a review here.
